内容简介：

Shopping as an experience has taken the place as, shopping as a necessity; and the design of the spaces to meet that end has had to adapt accordingly. At the turn of the century, commercial establishments were the first to apply the new construction techniques that emerged from the Industrial Revolution. The new markets and galleries of the European capitals represented the germ of what is today one of the best exponents of the latest tendencies in the language and materials of interior design.

Shop Design presents a wide range of shops selling clothing, complements and other objects modern temples of consumption that has opened recently in different parts of the world. This is a dynamic and colourful collection of some of the most forward-looking and inspiring shop designs in the world, from the studios of some of modern architecture's leading names. Each project is thoroughly documented with the designers' own notes and explanations, sketches, floor plans and glossy full-colour photographs. They show a common inclination towards calm and concise spaces and offer an inspiring range of formal proposals full of glamour.
