nonfiction. Among his numerous mystery novels is a trilogy

featuring a 1930s private detective named Harry MacNeil. His

biographies include 1930s political figures Fiorello La Guardia and

Theodore Roosevelt Jr. A broadcast journalist for 33 years before

becoming a full-time author, Mr. Jeffers has taught writing at
